It is not an easy task to do justice to the Louvre and what it represents (aka compared to the Louvre in Paris). However, Louvre Abu Dhabi meets the mark too – having taken ten years to build on an island in the desert. ‘Museum on the sea’ is truly a masterpiece that houses a collection of historical gems.
The interconnected galleries of the museum attempt to describe the story of human civilization. The galleries are divided into 12 chapters, each chapter portraying a different era – super neat. I found that the museum really invites you to look beyond the artifacts, to discover and feel the quintessence of its structure. This made our walk through these galleries an enlightening and mesmerizing experience. Also, it’s easy to navigate through the galleries and truly enjoy your stroll with tourists and art enthusiast alike. 🙂
One of my recommendations is that when you’re planning your visit to the museum, don’t forget to bring a scarf or a sweater with you. The galleries at the museum are set to a cool temperature. Also, don’t forget to end your tour at the Museum Cafe which overlooks the sea. Ahh, just lovely! And I miss it…
We had an incredible experience and would definitely revisit again.
