If you’re visiting Paris for three days or more then Versailles should definitely be on your itinerary. I have been to Paris twice before I made it to Versailles. It was such a beautiful day. We wandered around the gardens and I felt like royalty even in my converse shoes. The chateau was still a bit crowded in September so like Marie Antoinette used to escape to her small chateau (Petit Trianon), we did too. It was pretty and royal! And in the Versailles gardens the twinning project was born.
We usually go for evening walks or we walk to cafes on the weekends. Taking a walk is one of my favourite quality time activities spent with my husband. We catch up, talk about our day, share ideas, laughter and more. That day we might have broken the record of walking 27 kms in distance (around Versailles and Paris). So obviously ambling along the Chateau fountains and hidden gems I was inspired to create this series. I felt so grateful and couldn’t believe that it was just the beginning of our honeymoon. I truly believe that God grants every soul a twin. Here is my twin and I. Enjoy our Versailles twinning series 🙂
Four tips if you plan on visiting Versailles:
- Wear comfy shoes
- Buy tickets in advance during peak season
- Pack for a small picnic at the Chateau gardens. I hope that a baguette, cheese and a bottle of prosecco make it in your picnic basket 😉
- Wander, get lost in the gardens and get inspired
