On my second weekend in India we visited the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Agra City – the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri.

I am still processing and appreciating what we got to experience. The Shah Jahan in the mid-17th century was in deep grief after the death of his most beloved (third) wife, so he wanted to build the Taj Mahal in her memory and made sure it was one of the most impressive monuments that was ever built.

Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri were also worth visiting. Get yourself a tour guide or you’ll be lost trying to find your way around these monuments :).
