We attended our first wedding of 2018 and it was also the first after our own. In this post I share what I wore and a few tips. Whether you’re off to a wedding celebration or going on a Valentine’s date, don’t hesitate to pull out your favourite red dress.
We, ladies, often opt to wear dark colours in the winter but don’t shy away from colours that flatter you; and usually, bright red suits all skin tones 😉 . The wedding ceremony was at a church and the reception at a banquet hall. I chose the high boots for the ceremony, my favourite mohair shawl (thanks mom), long peacoat and wore my sparkly/nude heels for the evening.
Here are my four tips for choosing your outfit:
- Dress according to the venue and season!
- Don’t outdo the Bride
- Add sparkle / statement jewellery
- Be yourself and be comfortable
Here are a few essentials (that I’ve learned from my hubby) for the men:
- Suit up or mix and match blazer and pants
- A pocket square is a must! 😉
- Cool funky socks
- If you don’t match your wife/partner, wear a bold/solid colour.. Et Voila!
